Elden Street Players is looking for House and Box Office volunteers for our 25th Season. If you are looking for a way to get involved with ESP--for a single weekend or lots of weekends, volunteering with House or Box Office Operations is a great way to start! VOLUNTEER DESCRIPTIONS: House Volunteer (Main Stage - 4 Hours Per Shift) Starting 1 hour before each showtime, the House Volunteer is the primary point of contact for audience members inside the theatre. Equal parts doormat, diplomat, and acrobat, our House Volunteers are here to ensure our audiences are greeted enthusiastically, made to feel welcome, and are comfortable during the show. The House Volunteer is responsible for safely seating all ticketed patrons at the Industrial Strength Theatre. The House Volunteer ensures all requests for special assistance and disability accessible seating have been accommodated. Once the show begins, the House Volunteer sets up and operates the lobby concessions. The House Volunteer acts as the theatre's representative in the lobby in the event of an emergency, and they may be called upon to assist in the event an evacuation of the theatre is necessary. House Volunteers must be age 18 or older with reliable transportation, able to stand for extended periods of time and navigate the theatre stairs. House Volunteers must be comfortable handling intermission donations and serving refreshments. Must be able to safely lift equipment weighing up to 15 pounds (briefly). Customer service or previous ushering experience preferred, but not required. Box Office Volunteer (Main Stage - 1.5 Hours Per Shift) Starting 1 hour before each showtime, Box Office Volunteers are responsible for making every patron's first impression of ESP a great one. Box Office Volunteers greet each patron upon arrival, check-in all arriving guests, process advance ticket reservations, answer incoming phone calls, and manage the standby line (including assisting patrons buying tickets tickets). Box Office Volunteers must be age 18 or older with reliable transportation. Volunteers must be comfortable with cash handling including: making change, operating a cash drawer, accurately processing ticket orders, and maintaining security of credit card information. Volunteers who complete any 3 shifts may receive 1 complimentary ticket to an ESP show to be used during the 2012-2013 season. Ask for details. |
