DC Metro Theatre Arts says: "Five-Stars!" (out of five) "Deep, thought-provoking, and darkly funny, Elden Street Players’ The Seafarer is one production you must see!" "This production is beautifully directed by Angie Anderson." "Truly, it almost seems as if the set is its own character." "The performances in this play are incredibly intelligent—which is a tricky feat, considering that most of the characters spend the entire show stumbling around in a drunken haze. The actors are all hugely talented and make each character fully believable..." "Unspoken thoughts, anger, and resentments ripple under the festive scene like an electric currant, and is thrilling to watch."
ShowBizRadio says:"Professional quality shines through in every aspect of the production." "Timing and pacing are impeccable, with line overlaps and pauses that create a feeling of real conversation."

Elden Street Players has noticed an increase in SPAM e-mails today known as a "phishing scam". Some of these e-mails may have been sent from the personal e-mail addresses of volunteers with ESP. As compromised accounts become apparent, ESP is immediately contacting the owners of the personal addresses to secure their e-mail accounts with new passwords. As of 11:00am on 3/1/2013, the problem appears to be isolated to a single personal e-mail account and their associated personal contact list. If you receive an "unusual" e-mail which asks you to click a link and enter your personal e-mail address and passwords, immediately delete the e-mail and contact the sender of the e-mail. Some 'infected' subject headings include "Important Document". Elden Street Players takes online security very seriously. - Elden Street Players will NEVER ask you for your password information for any reason.
- Elden Street Players uses secure third-party vendors to house our customer databases, and we do not retain credit card numbers of our customers.
- Elden Street Players takes care to ensure full compliance to all CAN-SPAM and PCI Compliance guidelines and regulations.
Security Tips:- Never download email attachments or click hyperlinks in suspicious emails received even from known senders. These files or links may contain viruses like the Trojan horse programs that can reveal your password to others without your knowledge.
- Install well-known virus, spyware and phishing protection software. Keep them up-to-date, and scan your computer regularly for unwanted programs.
- Online scam artists succeed in tricking even the most seasoned cyber-veterans. In case you fall for a scam and give out your password, immediately change your password. You should also immediately change the passwords for all other e-mail accounts you use.
If you have questions regarding an e-mail you received related to Elden Street Players, we encourage you to contact the box office.
Thank you for you attention, and we're sorry for any inconvenience. |

Character Descriptions:MARK ROTHKO Famous American Abstract Expressionist Painter, 50s or older, a brilliant wordsmith, loud, ambitious, angry, visionary, a rare intelligence combined with a vulnerable soul, a painter for whom art is life, art is feeling, art is exhilaration. Rothko is painting a series of murals for the new Four Seasons Restaurant in the Seagram Building. His relationship with his assistant, Ken, is a howling act of provocation and vulnerability, forcing Rothko to face his own sense of self, self-absorption, and self-worth, as well as the nature of art.
KEN New assistant to Rothko, 20s-30s, a painter who, at first, is intimidated by Rothko but, as he gains self-confidence, challenges Rothko’s notions of art, the artist, and Rothko’s work. Ken provides the dramatic tension that enables Rothko to come alive in this play. Ken is easy-going, likeable, gentle, and considerate with a quiet demeanor and confidence that builds as his relationship with Rothko progresses. He forces Rothko to consider contemporary art and his place in it at the rise of the pop-art phenomenon, while at the same time admiring Rothko’s fierce vision and self-confidence.
