Once Upon A Clothesline

September  10 & 11,  2007 (Monday & Tuesday)
Time: 7:00pm - 8:30pm
Location:
Due to renovations at the theater, auditions will be held at Hutchison Elementary, 13209 Parcher Avenue, Herndon, VA 20170

CAST:
6 women & 7 men (ages 17+)

AUDITION FORMAT:
Cold readings from the script
An ability to let go and enjoy interacting with the audience is paramount.

PERFORMANCES:

Saturdays Nov 3, 10, 17 (at 11am and 2pm)
Sunday Nov 4 (at noon)
Sunday Nov 11, 18 (at 2pm)

Please bring a list of conflicts between now and the performance dates with you to auditions.

All roles are open and are volunteer positions.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS:

Knight Pinno (M): The Hero of the show. Clothespin like, but not too stiff
Princess Pinnette (F): The angelic golden haired Damsel in Distress
Two Chicks in Nest (M/F): Two precocious baby birds who can't help but put their two cents in, anywhere
Black Spider (M/F): Evil, evil, evil. Picture Cruella De Vil and Valdemort’s offspring and you just might be close to this creature’s real persona
Junior Ant: (M): Nice young ant who always listens to his mother… well, almost
Mrs. Ant (F): Spirited and Dependable take charge kind of woman, er… ant
Mr/Mrs. Grasshopper (M/F): Likable and talkative, although says he/she doesn't talk much at all, (Lots of Improv) and parent to three rather sassy grasshoppers
Three Sassy Grasshoppers (M/F): Young, sassy, following in Mom/Dad’s footsteps
Mr/Mrs. Cricket (M/F): A little slow on the uptake but there when you need him/her unwittingly saves the day, oh yeah
Dr. Beetle (M/F): Knowledgeable on getting Clothespins on their… uh, feet

All Bugs and Pinno must be able to move and interact with the audience.

About the Director: Meg Miller has appeared in three highly acclaimed children’s shows with ESP (Cinderella, Puss in Boots, and Red vs. The Wolf) Once Upon A Clothesline marks Meg Miller’s directorial debut for ESP’s Theatre for Young Audiences. She’s also directed “Five Women Wearing The Same Dress” and “Supercilious” in Northern Virginia. Meg has appeared in several productions in the area to include “The Women”, “Three Penny Opera”, and was most recently seen in “Museum”.
