Scrooge
Notes
Director's Notes
"Scrooge" is an adaptation of Charles Dicken's classic tale "A Christmas
Carol" which tells the story of the redemption of a bitter rich old man who
discovers the meaning of Christmas. It is a wonderful tale in which Scrooge is
visited by a host of spirits warning and pleading with him to change his ways
before it is too late. In the end, Scrooge overcomes his obsession with material
things feeling compassion towards Tiny Tim and eventually the rest of mankind.
This production represents the second time that the Elden Street Players and
the Herndon Towne Square Singers have cooperated on a production of Scrooge.
From that production, the Elden Street Players was born. Now about 14 years
later, we are delighted to bring "Scrooge" back in a new collaborative effort.
It's the perfect way to celebrate the holidays and the arts in Herndon.
So, once again, working with the wonderful Herndon Towne Square Singers, the
Elden Street Players, in cooperation with the Town of Herndon Department of
Parks and Recreation present the new production of "Scrooge" - our holiday
present to the public for its years of support of the performing arts in our
community. We hope you enjoy this performance and join in the spirit of holiday
giving by giving the performers a wonderful round of applause as they "Thank You
Very Much" for coming.
