The Elden Street Players' Theater For Younger Audiences announces the
auditions for their first production of the 2000-2001 season, Androcles
and the Lion.
Androcles and the Lion, by Aurand Harris is the classic tale of
a timid young slave who helps a fierce forest animal, who in turn allows
the slave to get away. The slave then has series of adventures with young
lovers, an old miser, and a loud but cowardly braggart of a captain. When
the Good Samaritan slave is condemned to death, the lion remembers the
kindness done to him and returns the favor.
