Chloe Adler (Catherine) is thrilled to be making her debut performance with the ESP. As a rising junior at Lake Braddock Secondary School, she has enjoyed roles in LB Theatre's Dracula, The Odd Couple, and Brigadoon. She attended the International Thespian Festival in Lincoln, Nebraska, where she appeared in Ed Monk's Cut. This fall she will play Jean in the West End's Brigadoon! She wishes to extend her deepest love and gratitude to the cast, crew, and staff for a good time; the porch party posse for schlepping out here; Mary, for being her ride and friend; her family and Michael for their tireless patience and guidance; and Louie, for his heart. This run is dedicated in loving remembrance to Elmer Adler and Ray Fischer.
Sara Brunow (Dance Ensemble) Pippin is Sara's first appearance on the ESP stage, but she has been very involved with both the James Madison Drama Department, as Marty in Grease and Bonnie in Applause, and the Vienna Youth Players. She would like to thank the cast and crew for being so wonderful, and her family for giving her love and the car on a regular basis. "To those who I am just meeting: you've made my summer rich and wonderful. To those who I must say goodbye to at the end of the summer, I love you, and I will never forget. La Vie Boheme!"
Wendy Cohen, (Berthe) last seen as Mrs. Gibbs in ESP's Our Town, is a recent arrival from Palm Springs, CA. Most recent roles include soloist in the reviews Applaud and Best Of Broadway, and Sheila in A Chorus Line, all with the Top Hat Theater, Palm Springs. Favorite role: Hamlet in Hamlet with the Shakespeare Folio Club. She has authored, directed and produced several children's theater shows, one-woman comedy shows and her own puppet company, The Broken Stone.
Andrew M. Corman (Dance Ensemble) is making his debut with ESP. He appeared as Action in RCP's West Side Story last fall. Elsewhere he has been in Arsenic and Old Lace, Our Town, Cabaret and East of the Sun. His fondest memory is of his guest appearance on the "Rosie O'Donnell Show" this June. Andy is secretary of his high school Thespian Society and an Eagle Scout. He'd like to thank his family and his vocal coaches past and present for their ever-loving support!
CaroIine Gutlirie (Fastrada) is pleased to return to ESP as a Queen, having previously performed last summer on the 1ST stage in ESP's fabulous La Cage aux Folles as a Cagelle. Favorite roles include Truvy in RCP's Steel Magnolias; Sheila, A Chorus Line; Fraulein Kost in RCP's Cabaret and Hedy LaRoe in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. She strongly encourages you to support your local theaters so you can see all of us again. Thanks to the cast and crew for the magic of a good show.
Rick Kenney (Charles) counts this as his 23rd ESP production since 1990, when he played Orsino in Twelfth Night and directed ESP's first summer musical, Working. Ten rewarding years and various roles later, he appeared earlier this season as Mayor Tyson and Skipps in The Lady's Not For Burning, and as Dr. Gibbs in Our Town. Last year he directed The Taming of the Shrew. His previous musical credits in this space include Walter in Chess, Duke/Dr. Carasco in Man ofLa Mancha, and Herbie in Gypsy. A 20-year veteran of local community theater, Rick also performed in both Gypsy and Pippin with the Reston Community Players. More recently he played another king in their fall '98 production of The King andL Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera...
Angelica King (Dance Ensemble) making her debut with the ESP, she is a senior communications student at Marymount University. Angelica was last seen in Will Roger's Follies (DS) she has also appeared in A Chorus Line, Guys and Dolls, The Nutcracker; Peter Pan, Jesus Christ Superstar Carousel, and choreographed Kiss Me Kate. Her national broadcasting credits include Law and Order; Welcome to the Dollhouse, Deconstructing Harry, and The Mirror has Two Faces. Angelica would like to dedicate this performance and every to the memory of her dance instructor and friend, Diane Socha, who she misses and loves dearly.
James King (Dance Ensemble) - is delighted to be returning to the ESP stage this summer in Pippin. Credits include Godspell, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Sheridan Whiteside in The Man Who Came To Dinner and Connie Rivers in ESP's production of The Grapes of Wrath Last summer, James appeared in TAP's production of The School for Scandal, for which he was nominated for a 1999 AACT award. In the fall, James will begin his second year at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, where he is currently pursuing a B .F.A in acting via the Stella Adler Conservatory of Acting.
Greg Lamen (Theo) is making his debut appearance with Elden Street Players. He has appeared as Theo in FIX Players' (Fairfax High School) Pippin. Greg is an eleven-year-old rising 6th grader at Fairfax Villa Elementary School. In addifion to acting and singing, Greg plays euphonium and cello. Greg thanks everyone at ESP for allowing him this chance to perform!
Mary Leaphart (Dance Ensemble) is making her debut appearance with ESP. She got her start in the theater MANY years ago with the Port City Players. She has appeared in shows such as Gypsy, George M, Brighton Beach Memoirs, and A Christmas Carol. Mary is really excited about her return to the theater in ESP's production of Pippin. Many thanks go out to her acting "coach" Laura Barmer!
Forest Rawls III (Choreographer/Dance Ensemble) is a transportation industry analyst by day who enjoys moonlighting as a dance boy. He is extremely excited to revisit Pippin, which was his first show at UVa in 1990 and his introduction to Fosse's world. He has choreographed several shows for ESP: The Who's Tommy (Ruby Griffith Award), La Cage aux FolIes, and Runaways; and appeared in Hair (tribe) ESP, A Chorus Line (Richie) RCP, Kiss of the Spider Woman (Aurora's Men) TAP, and Jesus Christ Superstar (Apostle Thaddeus) VTC. He performs in Swing on the Side, Center Dance Company. He thanks the talented cast, crew, and production staff for a great summer, and, as always, his family, friends, and especially dhw for their never-ending love, support, and understanding.
Maggie Roop (Dance Ensemble) is proud to be performing in her first production at ESP. Her most recent roles include Abigail Williams in The Crucible and Hope Harcourt in Anything Goes, both at Herndon High School. She has just finished her freshman year at the Boston Conservatory and enjoyed her responsibilities as ASM for Anyone Can Whistle last fall. Thanks to~all my friends, you're my angels. Arron Rothbart (Pippin) is returning to ESP for his first performance since The Who's Tommy. In the interim he has attended three colleges and is still looking. He wants to thank the audience for their continuing to support the arts. In particular he wants to thank his parents for single handedly keeping the arts alive by attending most of the performances by bringing his extended family.
Elizabeth Leigh Runnion (Pit Chorus/Talking Head) is excited to do her first show with ESP. She graduated from Herndon High School in 1999; and is now a Sophomore at The Catholic University of America studying Musical Theatre. Past shows include Fiddler on the Roof Anything Goes, The Crucible, all at Herndon. Sit down Ugly Girl.
Chris Smith (Leading Player) is delighted to be making his first performance with ESP on stage. He did lighting design for The Runner Stumbles. He favorite roles include Mike, A Chorus Line (RCP), Valentin, Kiss of the Spider Woman (TAP), Che, Evita (RCP), Courier, 1776 and Gbey, Our Town. When not on stage he can frequently be found working backstage as stage manager, technical director, or lighting director at area community theaters.
Paul Sturtevant, (Lewis) is happy to be making his debut with ESP in one of his favorite shows. He is currently a muscial theater student beginning his second year at Syracuse University. His favorite previous roles include Julian Marsh and choreographer in 42nd Street (WSHS), John/Judas in Godspell, Pharoah in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, plus all of the various roles he plays in day-to-day life.
Brendan Ranson Walsh (Dance Ensemble) is totally stoked to be performing with ESP this Summer. He has been dancing for 13 years. He teaches dance with Reston Insitute for the Arts (R.I.A.), is a member of its Senior Company, the Reston Jazz Ensemble (4yrs), and is the former captain of South Lakes High School's Varsity Dance Team. He is a rising senior and cannot wait to graduate. =) Credits include: Steel Pier, A Chorus Line, West Side Story, L'il Abner, various dance performances and Children's theater.
