Biographies
KEN ALCORN (Feste) Has BFA in Drama from the North Carolina School of the
Arts. He is a veteran of over 60 theatrical productions. For the past 10 years,
Ken has toured his solo mime show, "Body, Mime, and Soul," across the
U.S. for universities, prep schools, high schools, and nightclubs.
DAVID BOOKER (Priest) has participated in and directed church plays, and has
studied acting at GWU. This is his first role with ESP, but he has recently
appeared as a "bag lady" at several company functions, including one
at the Belvedere Hotel in Baltimore where he was asked to leave by the Maitre D.
The hotel shortly thereafter went out of business.
MICHAEL BROUSSARD (Valentine) is a founding member of ESP and he made his
debut in Herndon as Jonathan in "Death by Direction." He later played
Michael in "The Freedom of the City" and more recently handled props
for "The Sign in Sidney Brustein's Window." This is his first
Shakespearian role since he played Laertes in a college production of
"Hamlet."
RENA BROWN (Viola) appeared for ESP as Lily in of "The Freedom of the
City" and as Iris in "Brustein," and she won the Best Supporting
Actress award for her role as Doris Levine in ESP's production of
"God" at the 1989 NVTA One-Act Festival. She holds a BA in Theatre and
has appeared in numerous productions with area theatre groups. Rena, who lives
(and works) in Reston with her 2 sons and 5 cats, is an aspiring writer, and a
professional belly-dancer.
JOSH COPELAND (Curio) has been involved in drama and chorus since 4th grade.
He has appeared in many productions, including the recent "Disney
Spectacular" at South Lakes High School, and he has been chosen to sing in
the Fairfax All-County Music Festival three years in a row.
BILL DAVIS (Fabian) has acted in several productions since high school, and
recently appeared in the title role in "Scrooge," and as Lorenzo
Miller in "God," for which he won the Best Supporting Actor award in
the NVTA One-Act Festival. He is a pilot and flight instructor.
AL FETSKE (Antonio) holds a BA in Mass Communications from Seton Hall
University and has worked at both the Hartke Theatre at Catholic University and
the Culbreth Theatre at the University of Virginia while pursuing graduate
studies in Theatre and education. He has produced, directed, designed, and acted
in community, university, professional and dinner theatre. He also served as
assistant technical director of the American Place Theatre in New York City. He
played Wally in "Brustein."
BILL FLEMING (Sir Toby) is appearing with ESP for the first time in
"Twelfth Night." In the Virginia/Maryland area, he has worked with the
Little Theatre of Alexandria, Montgomery Playhouse, and the Vienna Theatre
Company. His previous Shakespeare roles include Lucentio in "The Taming of
the Shrew," Meninius in "Coriolanus," and an appearance with the
Virginia Shakespeare Festival as Alonzo in "The Tempest."
EDGAR GLICK (Sir Andrew) has been on, behind, and under the stage since he
was 12. He was last seen on the stage of the National theater with Ian McKellen
in "Acting Shakespeare."
ANDREW HEYMAN (Sea Captain) has been involved in more than 50 productions as
actor, director, make-up man, costumer, light operator, and flunky. He holds a
BFA from Illinois Wesleyan University. Andrew joined ESP in 1988, since when he
has played Skinner in "The Freedom of the City," Hepatitis in
"God," and Alton in "Brustein," and directed Diane Ney's
"How I Spent My Fortieth Summer Vacation."
SUSAN HEYMAN (Olivia) first appeared on stage at the age of six. She
subsequently received a BFA from Illinois Wesleyan University in Musical
Theatre. Susan, who recently played Deborah in "How I Spent My Fortieth
Summer Vacation," and Gloria in "Brustein" has acted
professionally at the Wagon Wheel in Rockton, Illinois, and has appeared in TV
and print advertisements. She has an MBA from GWU and is director of accounting
for a Washington law firm.
DAVID JACKSON (Sebastian) has performed on both sides of the Atlantic,
including acting Shakespeare (in Berlin), playing a zombie (in "Dawn of the
Dead"), appearing in a daily live soap opera (in Charlottesville), and
being a stand-up comic (in Pittsburgh). He is director of The Mystery Players, a
murder mystery performance group. With ESP, he has played Marley in
"Scrooge," Leslie in "How I Spent My Fortieth Summer
Vacation," Bursitis in "God" (which he co-directed), and David in
"Brustein."
RICK KENNEY (Orsino), a perennial character with Reston Community Players,
makes his first appearance for ESP here in a long-desired return to Shakespeare,
whose words he last spake in earnest while a drama student at Catholic
University in the late 'sixties. Best known locally for his roles in many RCP
musicals, Rick will direct ESP's production of "Working" next summer.
RlCHARD KLARE (2nd Officer) has performed with the Herndon Towne Singers for
the past three years, with acting roles in the "Yulefest" in 1986 and
1987. In 1988 he played the Ghost of Christmas Past in "Scrooge." Last
year he played Bob Fate in "God."
MICHELLE OWENS (Maria) has appeared in several high school productions,
including "A Midsummer Night's Dream." This is her debut in community
theatre. She is currently working toward a B.S. in Psychology at George Mason
University, and works part time as assistant office manager at the Zonar
Corporation.
JACK SEELEY (Malvolio) has a BFA in Directing from Boston University and an
MA in Theatre History and Criticism from Baylor University. He has worked at
Center Stage in Baltimore, the Source in Washington, and the Hayloft in
Manassas. He has also appeared in various off-Broadway shows and at regional
theaters around the country. He is a past president of the Herndon Chamber of
Commerce and the Herndon Rotary Club. A charter member of ESP, he played the
Judge in "Freedom," the King in "God," and Max in "Brustein."
