The 1998 Tony Award for Best Play. If one of your friends were to
spend a small fortune on a “white-on-white” painting would you let them know
how you really felt about it? Well, for better or worse, three long-time
friends are about to take Elden Street audiences on a remarkably wise, witty
and intelligent evening of theater to answer that very question.
Director: Gloria DuGan
Producer: Nanette Reynolds
Audition format: Cold Readings from the script
Cast/Age Ranges - 3 Men, age range 35-55 (they are long-time friends,
similarity in age will be considered)
All three characters are well-educated and while not "rich", they are
comfortable and established businessmen. Serge is the character that has
bought the painting, Marc is the character that is most offended by the purchase
and Ivan is "on-the-fence" and more worried about his impending nuptials (with a
very long, very funny speech in the middle of the show).
