Bruce Follmer, (Director) returns to Elden Street after 7 years, having had a delightful experience working in the cast of Kvetch back in 1994. As a retired computer specialist for the D.C. Police Department, he now has more time to devote to his lifetime love of theatre. Among his favorite roles over the past 50 years are Mr. Frank in The Diary of Anne Frank and Rauld Amundsen in Terra Nova for The Arlington Players, Colonel Kinkaid in The Last Meeting of the Knights of the white Magnolias for Signature Theatre, Juror # 9 in Twelve Angry Men for The American Century Theatre, Hector Nations in Foxfire for Springfield Community Theatre and, of course, Man in Veronica's Room with Dominion Stage. Favorites as a director include Noises Off, Biloxi Blues, Extremities, and The Nerd with Dominion Stage, A Few Good Men for Trinity Players and Lend Me A Tenor for The Arlington Players.
John Strycharske (Producer) is involved in his third production in the last 7 months. Having produced Of Mice and Men for ESP last fall, he gave himself the better part of a half year off before returning to try to lend a hand to this show. After driving David Fallen to the brink last year, John has learned the most important lesson a producer can: get out of the way! Special thanks to Bruce for being such a great communicator; and to all the production team for a job well done. This show is a testament to how well it can go when you surround yourself with great talent.
Les Zidel (Light Design) is a founder of both the Council for the Arts of Herndon and The Elden Street Players, where he serves as their Technical Director. Les has produced and/or designed more than 20 productions with ESP He has just come off lighting Twilight of the Golds at PCP, and stage managing at the Herndon Festival. Les was the principal designer of the IST and is now working with arts advocates in planning for a downtown Cultural Arts Center for Herndon's downtown. He thanks the members of the lighting team for making this fun and salutes Bruce for his clear vision as director.
Anne Franklin (Stage Manager) has been working in theatre, television and film production for 15 years throughout the South East. Her experience in TV and theatre spans from Seamstress for touring Broadway productions to Master Control Operator for WVVA, an NBC affiliate. In film she has been Production Assistant to films produced under such labels as Miramax and Fox. As her experience broadened she inevitably was asked to audition and received the role of Miranda in Shakespeare's The Tempest on her first audition. Since then she has portrayed characters such as Alma Winemiller in Tennessee Williams' Summer and Smoke and Claire Ganz in Neil Simon's Rumors. Her TV credits range from FOX series Savannah to CBS soap opera Bold and the Beautiful. After taking a four year hiatus to raise her children, Veronica's Room is her returning debut into the theatre. Anne couldn't have asked for a better intro back into the mainstream, and is extremely proud to be a part of Industrial Strength Theatre and the fantastic cast and crew of Veronica's Room.
Mike Loughnane (Technical Director) doesn't write bios, but wants you to know he hopes you truly enjoy the show... especially the way the set was constructed!
Amanda Di Donna (Set Painting and Detailing) a native Washingtonian, Amanda Di Donna brings her background in the arts and her passion for design and decorating in our production of Veronica 's Room. Amanda has appeared in The Nutcracker, The Visit, and Class Project (a made for cable tv production). Additionally Amanda has used her creativity in decorative painting and design through her own business. Amanda received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Mary Baldwin College and is currently entering Marymount University to earn a masters degree in Interior Design.
Pam Mc Coy (Set Dressing) is in her second show with Elden Street lately After dressing the set for Of Mice and Men last year here, she told John that if he ever needed a set dresser to just say the word. John said many words, and here she is again. Pam thoroughly enjoys working with ESP, and having directed many shows of her own, she has a deep respect for the directors she's gotten to work with in the last several months. And who knows, "Maybe one of these days you'll see my name on the bill here at ESP as director". Hmmm...
Jeff Boatright (Technical Lighting) Veronica's Room marks my one year anniversary with Elden Street Players. During that time Les Zidel took me under his wing and guided me through the intricacies of lighting tech and the artistic pleasures of design. I'd like to thank the lighting crew for their invaluable assistance on this production. To Cap Peckinpaugh, in particular; whose regular participation with ESP productions has been a godsend. Lastly, I'd like to express my appreciation for the patience my family endures during those long nights and weekends when "Dad" is at the theater.
Marti Sikes (Costume Design) has been costuming for Elden Street since it's beginning almost, and has a hand in almost every show. Most recently she has costumed for the children's show's for ESP, and is happy once again to be working with the cast and staff of an adult show!
Kathy Scholz (Properties) is an award-winning designer for community theatre properties and set dressing in the Washington area. She has won awards for The Arlington Player's production of The Women, Dominion Stage's production of Cabaret, and Little Theatre of Alexandria's productions of Something's Afoot, and Last Night of Ballyhoo. She has been a designing team member of the Hexagon Club of Washington's annual production for several years. Kathy has also designed props for The Mighty Special Music Makers for their annual gala for the last three years. Kathy designed the Props for Elden Street's production of The Alchemist in January. She would like to thank all her friends, co-workers and especially her husband Dick, for their support and encouragement.
Lisa Underwood (Production Assistant) This is Lisa's 3rd production
with ESP's... and has thoroughly enjoyed the friendships she has forged so
far. Lisa most recently worked on the childrens show Snow on the Moon
last
winter; and assisted with the set for Of Mice and Men.
