Cast Biographies (in alphabetical order)
Mike Broussard (Candy) - Mike has been working with the Elden Street Players since their inception over a decade ago. During that time he has served as actor; producer; property master; actor; sound designer & engineer; actor; set design, and actor. He is an ESP board member and maintains the mailing list database in his spare time. Outside the theater he is a
retired computer geek, aspiring novelist, and substitute teacher. Much love to Mary and Bri; it's rare to be blessed with such special friends.
Matthew Fielder (Lennie) - According to our sources, Matthew is your atypical 18 year old human male. Though he communicates only through grunts and flailing of limbs, he is believed to be very happy working with the Elden Street Players. His last play was
Twelfth Night, where he played "Sir Toby Belch" in a high school production. Last year; he taught a small improvisational theater group, also with his school. This is Matthew's first appearance with ESP.
Rickmen Parker (Crooks) - Rick is currently in the military; and due to retire in about 7 months. His last theater experience was earlier this year as
"Rusty Charlie" in AMS's production of Guys and Dolls. Previously he played a
"Police Officer" in DST's Wait Until Dark, an extra conspirator in
North and South (Warner Brothers), and appeared in a Chrysler commercial in the mid '80's. He hopes to make theater one of his best habits.
Wayne Reusch (George) - Wayne is delighted with the opportunity to again work with ESP having been last seen here as
"Horatio" in ESP's Hamlet. He most recently enjoyed performing as
"Sam Weinberg" in VTC's A Few Good Men. Wayne wishes to thank his wife and sons for their continued understanding and support.
Laura Russell (Curley's Wife) - Laura is pleased to be working again with Brad, Mary Ann, Wayne, Mike, and David, who directed her in ESP's award winning
Lady of Fadima. ESP regulars may remember her from last season as an abused wife in
The Runner Stumbles, a convent-raised bride-to-be in The Lady's Not for
Burning, and a demon-possessed schizophrenic in The Tenth Man. Laura has also performed with GFP, RCP and the Washington Shakespeare Company.
Her favorite role is Mommy to Mat and Alex, whom she would like to thank for their patience and support.
Mike Russell (Boss) - Michael is in his second production with ESP (his first was
Our Town earlier this year). He was active in theater in the Iowa/Illinois Quad Cities region before moving to the D.C.
area. He works for the Army Material Command and lives in Lorton. Mike is married to Donna,
and has two daughters, Jennifer and Meghann. Having never been boss of anything,
Mike is especially thrilled to play one on stage.
Mike Steele (Carison) - Mike has appeared on stage at Elden Street
several times, most recently as the "Sexton" ("Gotta go find a
tenth Jew out on the street somewhere") in The Tenth Man. He also
appeared as the villainous "Kermie Ferguson" in The Widow's Blind
Date and the dream-haunted "Charlie" in Da. Other favorite
roles are as "Roberto" in Death and the Maiden at Cedar Lane
Stage, "Tesman" in Hedda Gabler at Rockville Little Theater;
and "Kipps" in The Woman in Black with the Port City Players
Brad Tresek (Whit) - Finishing the role of "Slim" in the
September production of Of Mice & Men with The Colonial Players in
Annapolis, MD, Brad thought it would be interesting to do the show again in
Virginia. Earlier this year, he directed Night Watch for Bowie Community
Theater; was seen as "Jack Manningham" in Angel Street at
Annapolis, and was "Arthur Brooks" in Elden Street's The Tenth Man.
Away from the stage, Brad's passion is touring the country on his motorcycle.
Bruce Ward (Slim) - Bruce hasn't appeared on stage in so long he's
forgotten the names of the plays he's been in! After all, " 'Bout the only
private thing a guy's got is where he come from and where he's goin'...."
Regen Wilson (Curley) - Regen is a new face on Elden Street, following
his Washington debut as "Andrew Rally" in the McLean Theatre Alliance
production of I Hate Hamlet. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia and
Danville, Kentucky, some of the parts Regen's really enjoyed playing include
"Big Daddy" in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, "Mr. Applegate"
in Damn Yankees, "Col. Nathan Jessep" in A Few Good Men,
"Jeff Douglas" in Brigadoon, "Dr. Van Helsing" in Bram
Stoker's Dracula, "Luther Billis" in South Pacific,
"Jonathan Banks" in Class Dismissed, and "Mortimer
Brewster" in Arsenic & Old Lace. Regen also enjoys working in
front of and behind the camera. His work in that area includes Tears Fall
Silent, a video finalist in the 1999 National Telly Awards. Besides acting,
he has produced and/or directed nine shows in the past seven years.
